It's been four months since I last posted.  But I'm sure no one even noticed I was gone!  That's okay...I'll just pick up where I left off and move on.  Going to an awesome new restaurant downtown for lunch today...can't wait.  Dreamed about Jax from Sons of Anarchy last night...sah-weet!!! And sitting outside in the rain for football practice tonight is gonna suck ass.

I'm so glad it's friday.  I've had a really long week and I'm looking forward to letting loose at my cuzo's birthday party tonight at Ike & Jonesy's.  And since tomorrow is Judgement Day (*eye roll*), I'm gonna make the best of tonight!  I haven't gotten to cross much off my bucket list yet, so I hope the future is long and bright so I can skydive someday.  Even though i'm sure I could do that inside the pearly gates :)

We had a great Easter.  I took Laila on an egg hunt at the church Saturday morning and we spent Sunday with family.  She was terrified of the Easter bunny, so she wasn't too happy to find out he was coming to our house after she went to sleep to bring her some goodies.  But once she woke up Sunday morning and saw everything, she wanted to find him and thank him.

Today I'm saying so what if:

- I can't stop playing "Words With Friends".  Is everyone else addicted to this game?
- I've been sitting at my desk having to pee for 30 minutes.  I really don't want to walk the long 100-ish feet to the restroom...so I'm doing the pee pee dance in my chair.
- I'm really stressed out over Bobby's birthday this year.  It's in less than a month and I don't even want to talk about how much money we're spending.  It kinda makes me sick to my stomach..
- We forgot yesterday was our dog's birthday.  He's 6.  Oops.  Happy bday, Ali ;)

 - The main reason I'm excited for summer this year is the fact that I get to show off my new tattoo!!! <3 it!

- I haven't blogged in a week.  I'm too busy being awesome.
- The low tonight is 45 degrees and we're going out on the motorcycle.  It's gonna rain for the next three days!
- I have 7 hats, 3 sock monkeys, and 3 flyers to make in the next 3 days.  Yeah right.  I'm never gonna make it.
- Everyone in my office called in sick yesterday except me.  We had a deadline at 3pm.  I had to do ALL the work.  I need a raise.
- I read the obituaries every day.  Almost all of em.  Does that make me weird??

- I want to punch my little sister right in the baby-maker today. 
- I'm freezing to death right now, but still chewing a whole cup of ice.  I can't help it.
- I'm addicted to Words With Friends.  I have my ipad set up next to my computer monitors at work and play it all day!
- I don't have a facebook page.  That's one addiction I had to give up to better my relationship...and it worked :)
- My older sister is in the newspaper as "wanted for fraud".  Hey, at least I'm sane.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!

After a fun night out on Saturday, we decided to hit the casino for a few.  There were four of us altogether and we decided if any of us win anything over $1,000, we would split it four ways.  So we go in, start playing slots and end up hitting over $6,000.  It was amazing.  2 of us hit the jackpot on the same game!  That doesn't happen!  So we paid the taxes out, took our winnings and split it up.  Each of us walked out of there with over a thousand bucks each.  I see a nice little vacation somewhere in the near future!

- I just did 20 push-ups in my cubicle...without anyone noticing.  I needed to wake up!

- I plan on getting *rock-star* wasted Saturday night.  We're going out with some of Kyle's friends from work that I've never met...I'm most likely going to embarrass myself...and him.  Who cares?!?

- I spend more time on my work computer making money on ebay that actually working.  Sssshhhh!

- I wish every shirt I owned was pink.  Or had pink in it.  That would be awesome.

- I plan on tanning every day for the next 2 weeks to get a base tan for that spring sun that will eventually show itself :)

All in all the trip was a great success.  Lego Land was a flop.  Not nearly as awesome as they make it out to be online.  But that's okay.  The kids still enjoyed themselves somewhat.

The train ride there was not a good time.  The kids complained and just couldn't wait to be there.  But the ride home was great.  There was a diner car on the train home which was very useful.  The kids and I sat down most of the ride and played cards.  Overall, it was a nice getaway and a fun time.  Now it's time for an adult-only vacation!  We're planning our trip now.  No details yet, but I'll keep you updated :)

- it was 76 degrees yesterday and it's snowing today.  We live in Indiana. Get over it.
- I made a "packing list" for each of us for our trip tomorrow.  I want to make sure we don't forget anything!
- I haven't taken Bobby to the barber shop in like 3 weeks...he has an afro now.
- We have a cabinet full of cups and I only drink out of 2 of them.  The blue ones are mine. 
- Kyle won't let me put up any pictures of us in the house cause he hates the way he looks in pictures.  At least he doesn't do the duckface!  And I think he's hott!!!

All Aboard!

We're all ready for our Chicago trip finally.  Got everything ready to go.  I even found some really cool games online for the kids to play on the train ride.  Even though we'll have books, movies, Nintendo DSi's, an ipad, and other stuff, it's a 5 hour trip there and a 5 hour trip back, so we need lots to do!  Three bored kids won't be any fun at all, so i'm not letting that happen.  Unfortunately, the high in Chicago this weekend is only like 34 degrees, so we won't be able to take them to Millennium Park or anything, but there are still lots of indoor activities around.  And making a whole day of LegoLand takes up a lot of our time, also.  Anyway, enough about that...I'm ready!  On the road...er...tracks...Friday early morning!

College basketball

Every year, Kyle and I fill out brackets for NCAA to see who can do better.  I always seem to win.  HA!  In your face.  I don't even watch college basketball...I just guess.  And so far, I'm winning again this year.  Go me!  This year a friend at work was in on it, too.  So today we talked.

Friend: I threw it away.

Yesterday we were on our way home in the car (just Laila and me) and there was a man with a beard on a motorcycle next to us.

- I'm scared to get a boob job...but I want one so bad!

I've Got Nothing

I had an extremely boring weekend...nothing to talk about.  My cousin had a baby friday, so I got to go shoot his pics Saturday.  Well, i got to shoot A pic, since he wasn't up for it, we'll try again later this week.

Funerals Suck

I offered to help with getting things together for Chris' funeral.  I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to make posters of all these pictures and put the songs together to play during the service.  Ugh.  I'm just gonna say right now that I'm sorry for whoever has to do this at my funeral!

With every passing, there is a new life brought into the world.  A friend passed away Saturday morning and Katie went into labor Sunday morning.  She delivered little Xander (my little 'Zan Man') yesterday at 5:05pm.  He was 8 lbs and 7 ozs.  I knew he was gonna be a big one!  Congrats Katie, Lonnie, Alexis and Gabe!

We lost a friend Saturday morning.  He was sad and ill and decided it would be best if he wasn't here anymore.  Rest in peace, Chris Smith.  You will always be loved and missed.

We're Having a Baby!!

Not me, dork.  Katie!  She's in the first stages and has been having contractions for about 9 hours off and on.  They're 8-10 minutes apart now and she's at the store walking around.  And I'm sitting at my desk waiting for that call to get my ass to the hospital STAT!  Hopefully she won't wait too long and have this kid in the car...or the elevator.  That would suck.  But it would make for a great story later.

Hypnobabies

So i was respectfully chosen to be a doula for my best friend Katie in a couple weeks during the birthing process.  Her birth method is called Hypnobabies.  It's a form of natural childbirth where you put yourself in a state of hypnosis to block out any pressure waves (contractions) or discomfort (pain) you may be having.  I think if i had another baby...WHICH I'M NOT...i would definitely go this route.  Just to see if I could.  I really hope all goes as planned with Katie and she has the will power to stick with the program!  I'm supporting her 100% and almost done with the Hypnobabies book, so i'll know just as much as her about Hypnobabies!

I'm broken

I jumped out of the shower this morning in a rush to hurry and get the kids ready since Kyle had to leave early for work.  I ran down the stairs with a towel wrapped around me and tripped off the last step and right into the open bedroom door.  I hobbled to the bed and felt like I couldn't breathe.  My toes hurt so bad.  I tried to bend them a couple times and stood up, got dressed, and tried to forget about the pain.  Couldn't do it.  My toe is broken.  It turned black and blue within about 10 minutes.  This is the third friggin time I've broken that toe.  Not a good time.  So no treadmill for me today!

On a lighter note...Jersey Shore is on tonight!  Woot woot!

Planning for a trip

So I'm taking Bobby to Legoland in Chicago on a train.  He's never been on a train before and he's super excited.  It's becoming a huge headache.  I planned on taking him on Monday since he's out of school for President's Day.  Well now I can't because Kyle (hubs) wants to take Aleena too.  I thought it would be just me and Bobby, but I'm totally cool with taking them with us.  Only now we can't go til the end of March because he can't take off work on Monday and I have to wait til Katie's baby is born since I'm the designated doula!!  She's due March 6th and I'm not buying train tickets and tickets to Legoland and then risking not being able to go.  Ugh.  Planning sucks.  So as of now, the trip is scheduled for the 21st of March.  We'll see how that goes!!

{ Tired }

So after a long weekend of partying like I did when I was 21, I'm way too exhausted to think today.  I'm very disappointed in the Grammys last night, so I won't speak on that.  Katie's baby shower was a success yesterday.  Lots of people showed and the games were a hit.  We poured beer in baby bottles and had the guys (and girls) see who could drink the whole bottle first.  It was really funny.  Now I'm getting ready to go to Bobby's school to make Valentine's Day crafts with his class.  Then Laila's party is at 3pm today in the daycare.  Going to dinner tonight with hubs, Katie and her husband.  Then home to sleep...i need it!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...

- I watch Jersey Shore religiously.  I always feel a little dumber when it's over, but there's something about those 8 guidos (and guidettes) that keep me coming back every week!
- I'm too lazy to exercise.  I try to motivate myself but it never works.  Every once in a while I do some push-ups on my bedroom floor or some sit-ups or squats while watching TV. 
- I can eat 5,000 calories a day and not gain a pound.  It's a problem, people!  How do you think I feel when someone tells me I make them sick because of how skinny I am??
- I like to watch scary movies alone in the dark.  Hubs hates them, so I usually go in my bedroom and watch them solo.  And yes, I hide my face under a pillow during all the scary moments.
- I only download apps that are free.  I have tons of apps on my ipod and my ipad and I think I only paid for one.  And it's a Dora the Explorer app for Laila.

Oh Baby!!

So I've been as busy as a bee planning my BFF's baby sprinkle for this sunday.  I've just about gotten everything done now.  I have to go tomorrow evening and get the rest of the supplies we need for games and prizes.  The weather is supposed to be nearly 50 degrees on sunday, too, so no excuses for not showing up!  It's a coed party, so I hope everyone enjoys the games I have planned and doesn't think they're too "girly" or "lame".

Our snow...thing

It started out as a dragon.  But everyone who saw it said it looked like something different.  I heard it called a caterpillar, a worm, the Beetlejuice worm, a sperm, and a dragon.  Whatever it is, it got some attention! The food coloring started sinking into the snow after a few hours, so it didn't stay this bright very long.

Go Pack Go!!

My team will always be the Indianapolis Colts, but I LOVE Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings and the rest of the Packers.  I'm so happy for their victory yesterday.  And everyone that doubted them...ha!  I  had Silva winning the UFC fight on Saturday and the Packers yesterday, so I made a few bucks this weekend ;)

On another note, Laila was extra lovable this morning.  She must have had a bad dream because she climbed into my bed around 2:30am and hugged me like she hadn't seen me in ages.  Then she fell asleep and kicked the shit out of my rib cages for the next 4 hours.  That's my girl!

TGIF

Yes.  Thank God it's Friday.  Today has been the longest day ever and I'm exhausted.  Nothing planned for the weekend yet.  My only photo shoot that was scheduled for the weekend (oh yeah...did i tell you I'm a photographer?) was cancelled.  Looks like we'll have to find something fun to do with the kids.  Aleena is coming over tonight.  I just love three crazy ass kids up my butt all weekend.  And I just love not being able to sleep in past 8am on a Saturday morning.  Oh the joys of motherhood.  Have a great weekend!

Green Light

On the way to drop the kids off this morning, we're sitting at a stop light and I wasn't paying attention until Laila says "GREEN LIGHT!"  So I look up and get going.  Then Bobby says "Mom...did you hear that?  She just said green light.  For real.  In English!"

Umm..yeah.  She's 2...she talks.  In English.  What other language did you expect it in?  He thinks so highly of her that he thinks she's bilingual too, i guess! 

When Will It Ever End?!?

It's official.  I'm tired of this weather.  But hey, Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow today!  Woot woot!  That means early spring.  I can't wait to get back into my hoochie clothes!  Short shorts, tank tops and flip flops. Mmmmm...the sweet aroma of fresh cut grass and bonfires.

And just one more excuse for a party!  Cornhole tourney at my house! First night over 60 degrees.  Can't wait.

But for now, i need a cigarette and some ice cream.  Ice cream sounds really good right now...but since no one decided to get on the icy roads this morning (except for me), nothing is open that sells it around here :(  Oh well, i can be happy with just a cig for the time being.

Holy ice monkeys!!!!

Uuuugggghhhh!!!  So they're calling this ice storm we got this morning the worst in over a decade.  True, there was about an inch of ice all over my car that took an hour to get off.  But i made it to work.  And there's only 4 people in my office.  Come on.  Really?!?  You can't come to work because you're too lazy to clean the ice off your car!  The roads were fine!

And now the crappiest part of the storm is supposed to start around 1pm today.  The daycare is closing at 1pm, so i have to pick Satan up early.  Bobby's school was cancelled last night.  He goes to a public school.  You know it's bad when IPS cancels school!

So I'm gonna sit at my desk on my ipad and play games til it's time to leave...cause there's no one here to tell me I can't.

Trying this out

Hi!  My name is Brandy and I'm a 28 year old mom of 2 and step-mom of 1.  Bobby is 7 and Laila is 2 and my step-daughter Aleena is 6.  I may refer to Laila as Satan quite a bit, though.  Not purposely...just out of habit.  She's a psychopath...already.  My kids are like night and day.  Bobby likes to cuddle and give lots of hugs and kisses, and Laila will punch you in the face in a heartbeat if you come close enough.  She must get that from Kyle (her daddy, my husband).  Not that he would punch me in the face, but I'm sure he wouldn't think twice about it if he knew I wouldn't punch him right back.  Aleena used to be a rotten apple also, but she's much better now.  She started school this year and she now has her own little personality and we are becoming even greater friends :)
